Dark Mode support in Light Templates

If this feature is enabled for browser help output the light templates will automatically adopt dark styles when running in modern browsers (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Firefox) when Dark Mode is enabled in the operating system (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) or in the browser settings specifically (Edge). As well as the standard template colors and styles, the colors used by colorised code sections are dynamically adjusted to ensure they are readable in dark mode.

Light Template library updates

The Light templates now use the latest jQuery 3.0.3 and jQuery UI 1.12.1 when targeting browser help output.

.NET 5 support

Support for documenting .NET 5 assemblies, including automatic resolution of .NET 5 dependencies.

Improved Visual Studio 2019 integration

Improved startup performance in Visual Studio 2019.

OpenApi 3.x web service support

Comprehensive support for documenting OpenApi 3.x definitions, from .json or .yaml files. New support in OpenApi 3.x includes documentation of inline schemas, array types, format subtypes and multiple request types.

Compatibility with older versions

Installing 2021.1 will automatically remove 2019.1 (or earlier) if you have it installed.

Projects can be opened in 2021.1 without any conversion.

If you own a 2019.1 license purchased on or after 1 December 2020

If you own a 2019.1 license purchased before 1 December 2020

If you purchased a 2019.1 license before 1 December 2020, you can purchase the upgrade to 2021.1 at significant discount using this page:

Immediately after purchasing the 2021.1 upgrade, you will be emailed your license and download instructions for the 2021.1 setup.

We recommend that you purchase the upgrade with the Subscription option. The subscription option entitles you to free support and upgrades for a year, after which the subscription can be renewed for less than the cost of a single upgrade.
