I use VS2005 .NET 2.0 C# to develop programs and downloaded the HelpStudio Lite version from the Inovasys web site.
I have successfully created a help project and click ‘build’ but the only file created is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\HelpStudio Lite Projects\Build\MyProject.hxs

Q) There is a Helpful section in the Documentation under Deploying the Help System that will guide you through the Visual Studio integration process.
Q) I'm afraid HelpStudio lite is designed for integration with Visual Studio exclusively and won't generate a .chm for you. For generating a .chm you would need the Full version of HelpStudio3. For a summary of whats new in version 3 please visit:

Q. Can I use HelpStudio Lite to do this?
HelpStudio Lite is designed for authoring and building help for integration with Visual Studio. It is therefore restricted to Help 2.x output and cannot be used to create help for general distribution (e.g. with an application).
The full version of HelpStudio can be used to author application help and build a CHM that you can distribute with your application, or web help which can be hosted on an intranet / internet web server.
