Permanently deleted user HelpStudio is focused on creating free format conceptual help systems and Pdfs, usually for application or web site end user help systems or procedures.
Document! X is focused on automatically generating reference documentation from .NET components, Com components and database schemas. The latest 2010 version now includes many of the conceptual authoring features from HelpStudio.
Let me know if you need any further information at all.

Scott Shepard In HelpStudio, 2012.1.108.0, the view from Project Explorer is the same as the Project Explorer view in Document! X 2012.1.108.0. Menu items also match. Due to the difficulty of actually finding any literal, practical differences between Document! X and HelpStudio, it might be advisable to create a grid listing the details. This would go a long way toward convincing those who bought the Bundle that they didn't pay a couple hundred dollars extra for an identical application.

Permanently deleted user If you have installed the bundle then the superset of both applications is available in both - i.e. they are seamlessly combined. This is by design, and is only the case if you have installed the bundle - so that you can access the full set of functionality from either application and don't have to worry about which one you have launched.
If you had just HelpStudio installed, you would have none of the Document! X automated documentation functionality available, and if you had just Document! X installed you would not have any of the imaging tools, PDF output etc.
Hope this helps, and sorry for any confusion caused.
