The Generate Breadcumbs checkbox is selected in the Microsoft .NET Options tab of the dxp file.
But, after the build I notice that the breadcrumbs are not displayed.
When I combine the API with the HS porject, the HS project part displays with the breadcrumbs, but the API part does not display the breadcrumbs.
Am I doing something wrong?
How do I correct this situation?

Can you try deleting your output folder and then rebuild your DX project, I feel I should point out that this Forum was designed with Peer to Peer support in mind and if you have any support questions please send them directly to us at support@innovasys.com.
If you are still experiencing this issue after deleting the output folder can you send in your project and any related assemblies when you contact support@innovasys.com so we can run the replication procedure here as this isn't something we have had reported else where.
