VisualStudio 2008 won't start when Document! X 2008 is installed

Hello,

Just wondering if any other users have experienced this problem (which I've already reported): when I install Document! X 2008, I can no longer launch VisualStudio 2008, either by opening a project or by trying to start it directly.

Document! X 2008 itself seems to work OK: I can load projects into my .dxp, see the comments, edit content, generate help etc. It's just that I can't launch VisualStudio. As soon as I have uninstalled Document! X 2008, VisualStudio starts again without any problems.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Document! X, including zapping the registry. I have also done a full repair on VisualStudio.

Any ideas?

  Hello,

  Comprehensive installation tests are a key part of our QA process. We have tested installations on Windows 2000, XP and Vista with all current versions of Visual Studio. We have followed up on this issue via direct support and are working for a resolution. The nature of this problem currently points to an environmental cause - possibly Anti Spyware/Virus or other AddIns that may enabled in Visual Studio - those are the avenues we are currently investigating by direct support.
