I've just created my first help project but cannot find the option to define the primary locale of my project. I would like to use German as my primary locale and English as an additional locale. I added English (USA) as an additonal locale but where can I define German as the primary locale?

Richard Sloggett Official comment The spelling culture used for the primary locale is based on the "Primary Locale Culture" which you can set in the Locale Editor.

Mike Shaw (Innovasys) Hello,
The term Primary Locale is deliberately a generic term as different users will have difefrent locales they consider to be a Primary Locale. This doesn't need to be defined anywhere, you can use any of the Locales as your primary locale. I hope this answers your question.

Wutsch76 When I cannot define the language of the primary locale, where can I define the language for the spell check of the primary locale? Or is there only a english spell check at the moment?

Mike Shaw (Innovasys) You download alternative dictionaries from here: http://www.innovasys.com/download/updates.aspx
You can select which dictionary to use in Tool/Options/Spell Check Dictionaries.

Richard Sloggett For the benefit of anyone coming across this post, you can now define the Spell dictionary for specific locales in the Spelling Options - Document! X and HelpStudio ship with several different language dictionaries.

Patrick Lanz Looking for a way to define the spell check for the primary locale, I can see that this is a global setting.
In my case, I have projects where the help file is entirely in French and others where the help is entirely in English. So I think that the setting must be per-project and not global to all projects.
