Mike Shaw (Innovasys) Hello,
You can locate your existing style sheet in the Project Explorer and the either double click on it or use the Edit context menu option.
Once the css file is open in the Style Editor you can then edit the exsting styles in Visual, Source or Split views.
I hope this helps. -
RG I am sorry to say that your information does not help.
Now I have created a NEW HelpStudio project for a test. Also here different Styles which are named as follows are created by default:- Standard
- Formatiert
- Adresse
- Überschrift 1
- Überschrift 2and so on. I find no way to edit these styles. These styles are NOT displayed in the project explorer!

Mike Shaw (Innovasys) Hello,
We would recommend you don't edit HelpStudio's own stylesheets and create a new custom style sheet for your Project, or add an existing one if you have one. If you locate the Other File node in the Project Explorer and use the Context Menu you can select either:
1) Add Other File to this Project (for adding an existing css file).
2) Create StyleSheet.
Once you have either added or created a style sheet you will be able to edit using the procedure outlined before. Alternatively you can place focus in an open Topic and then click on the New Style Rule link in the Style Picker (tabbed Dockwindow sutuated to the right of screen). This will ask you to create a new css file before creating the styles you require.
You can also specify the output the style sheet is for by selecting it in the Project Explorer and using the Properties Window to specify which output to use the style sheet for.
I hope this helps.

RG Now I have created a new style with the StyleBuilder. I have called it "Test". I have stored the style in customstyles.css.
Now the style is displayed in the drop Down list on the top left with the name ".Test" (with dot before the name)
In the Projekt-Explorer now I have under "Other files" an entry "stylesheets" and underneath an entry customstyles.css. Here I can only select "Edit" in the context-menu. Then on the right a Treeview is displayed with the elements "Elements", "Classes", "Element IDs", "Import". None of the elements has contents. So I cannot edit again my style "Test". Also the F1 key indicates here no help.
Second question:
Because I should not edit the HelpStudios own Stylesheets, I don´t have a use for it. Can I remove the Standard-Stylesheets from the drop Down list on the top left? -
Mike Shaw (Innovasys) To Edit the style you have created you can click on the Edit button on the new Rule in the Style Picker. When opening the css file the new style is in you should definitly see it in the Style Editor. Can you send in a copy of your project directory please so we can investigate here. Please send into support@innovasys.com.
When applying your Custom Style we would recommend using the Style Picker. I'm afraid we wouldn't advise removing the existing Styles.

RG How can I start the style picker?
-
Mike Shaw (Innovasys) Hello,
The Style Picker is a tabbed window that is pinned to the right side of the screen by default. When focus is placed in an open Topic the Style Picker will show any Styles that are applicable to the content that has focus.

RG O.K., now I have got on. I have created a new style MyStandard. This appears in the style Picker as .MyStandard and can also be edited from there.
Question: How can I achieve that the new style .MyStandard is used by default? If I create a new Topic, the HelpStudio's own stylesheet "Standard" is always used by default and I have to chance it each time to .MyStandard manually. -
Mike Shaw (Innovasys) When you first create a rule you can specify an Element Rule that will be applied by default to all Elements of that type in the project. For example if you create a rule for P elements, every Paragraph in the project would have this rule applied.
I hope this helps.
