HelpStudioLite2 - Integrating with Visual Studio 2005 Help

Hi,

I'm using HelpStudioLite2 (which comes with the Visual Studio 2005 SDK). When integrating with Visual Studio 2005 Help Collection (MS.VCSPCC.v80) on Vista I experience heavy problems. I use a CustomAction where I invoke innovahxreg.exe to register the help and to plug it into Visual Studio 2005 help collection.

But I don't get rid of this Error 2869 Angry

Therefore: Does anybody have a working CustomAction for a Setup and Deployment Project in Visual Studio 2005 for integrating a Help 2.0 into any existing help collection?

If you are creating a windows installer setup, the Microsoft Help Integration Wizard is probably a much better option for deploying your Help 2.x files that using the command line tool. The Help Integration creates a Merge Module you can include in your setup. This will handle un-registration automatically and should not be subject to any security issues around running a command line on Vista.

You can find an introduction to the Help Integration Wizard at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb165032(VS.80).aspx. I believe it is now bundled with the Visual Studio SDK.
