Embedding a Visio document into the help

I am wondering if there is anyway of embedding an external file (like a Visio diagram) into the help:

I needed to show a Visio diagram in my help file (help 2.x): I created an image from the diagram and placed in the help file. The problem is about the Booklet I need to print: the image is too big and is cropped. So I created a thumbnail and rotated it 90° in order to make appear that one in the booklet while allowing to see the horizontal-image in the help file.

Is there any better way to embed an external file?

   The best way to include multiple versions of the same piece of content (i.e. 1 for each output type) would be to use build flags.

   Build flags allow you to mark content to be included in selected outputs (Build Profiles / Booklets). The process for your particular situation would be this:

  1. Create 2 build flags, 1 for the help 2.x output and 1 for the pdf output.
  2. Add your original image to the topic as normal.
  3. Add the pdf version of the image to the topic, if you want this image to be displayed in the same place as the original then add it directly below / above the original.
  4. Apply the build flags to the corresponding images (from the context menu select Build Flags / your build flag).
  5. Setup your Build Profiles / Booklets to use the correct flags. To do this open the Build Profile / Booklet for editing, select the Build Flags option. Check the Use Build Flags option then select the flags you would like to use.
