Commandline build on TFS server

Hi

I have a question in regards to making a nightly build using a specific build profile.
I have used the commandline to make a build and that is also very good but in my first attempt the project which is build from on my local machine where i have the TFS help workspace and Help Studio 3 installed.

Now our plan is to move the automated build to our TFS server to insure that we always get the latest from the TFS to build from. On the TFS we could execute similar commandline - but this would require a helpstudio3.exe to be located on the machine. Now this seems a waste of a user licens to install a helpstudio on the TFS only to make a nightly build.

Can anyone suggest a work around for this in order not to waste a license for this purpose.

  You would indeed need the full version of HelpStudio on any machine on which you wanted to build a HelpStudio project.

  Thank you for your reply.

  It is only fair that a licensed version should be installed in order to process a build. It would how ever be a nice feature to have a "applications server" like service for build only which would also limit the load on thirdparty install on a TFS server which most people are quite sensitive about and for good reason.

  Thanks for the suggestion - I can see how a reduced 'Build Installation' could be useful. The majority of setup components would still necessary for just a build, but I have logged this as a suggestion here - we could at least remove the UI Mapper, Image Editor, Screen Capture components etc. to reduce the footprint.
