Hi,

I have a lot of screenshots to do, and I find the internal screenshot tool to not be as user-friendly as SnagIt which is what I'm used to. I'm trying to work out the most effecient workflow, because right now there are a lot of clicks between capturing an image and inserting it into my topic.

You can easily make screenshots and save them to the same folder with SnagIt, but HelpStudio won't "see" the image unless you say "Add Image to Project" - it won't just see that the image is in the folder and list it in the Project Explorer (that would be nice!). So that means remembering what you named it and adding each image as you go which is fairly annoing.

SnagIt has a "Send to Program" feature but I think HelpStudio would have to support that somehow? I'm not sure.

Has anyone tried to mix these?

  I'm also using Help Studio with SnagIt and the only way I've found to get images from SnagIt into HelpStudio is by the method you describe.  I've tried copying and pasting images (which works between SnagIt and RoboHelp), dragging and dropping, setting SnagIt Editor as the default image editor in Help Studio, all to no avail.

  Unfortunately Help Studio's reliance on "importing" images (even if they're saved to the default image folder) prevents any quick and simple method of inserting images into topics.

  Hello, 

  What you could try is saving the Screen Captures to the images sub-folder and then Dragging and Dropping them onto the Project Explorer (using mulitselect for multiple images), or you could use "Add Image" from the Project menu which will also allow you to add mulitple images using multi select. Once they are in the Project Explorer they can easily be added to Topics using Drag and Drop.
